Types

Socket Weld vs. Threaded Fittings

Socket Weld Fitting

Socket Weld Fitting

The pipe sits inside a recessed socket and is sealed with a fillet weld around the joint, giving a permanent, leak-proof connection. Common up to NB 100 in classes 3000#, 6000# and 9000# for high-pressure, critical service.

Threaded Fitting

Threaded Fitting

Internal threads in the fitting bore screw onto male NPT or BSP pipe threads — no welding needed. Quick to fit and remove for maintenance, threaded fittings suit smaller-bore utility and instrumentation lines at low to medium pressure.
